Earth Day Event
“Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting –
over and over announcing your place in the family of things.” (Mary Oliver)
Forgotten Sounds
Earth Day
April 22, 2-5pm
An afternoon of art, music and poetry.
Held at the CULTURAL CONVERSATIONS HUB
244 Hardy Street, Morrison Square, Nelson
–
The artwork (anthotypes) is created using photosensitive material from plants. Letters are hidden in tiny pods in various locations, with coordinates and clues posted on this website. When people find the pods, they are encouraged to stop and listen to appreciate the sounds of nature. Feedback collected from the experience will be part of the complete project and participants are gifted an anthotype. On April 22nd, Earth Day, there will be an event at the Cultural Conversations Hub in Nelson where the artist (Ana Solo) will demonstrate how to create anthotypes and hand over the artwork to the project participants. There will also be music and poetry at the final event.
